42% of cell phone switchers don’t switch, thanks to fees

A new government study on wireless phones (PDF) concludes—people actually love their cell phone providers, but early termination fees keep those who are dissatisfied from switching. The Government Accountability Office (GAO) was asked by Rep. Ed Markey (D-MA) to investigate cell phone complaints and the ways that the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) deals with those complaints.
