Brief: Nokia adds additional lawsuit in patent catfight with Apple

In conjunction with its recent complaint to the International Trade Commission, Nokia has filed yet another patent lawsuit against Apple, alleging that the company violates 10 of its US patents related mostly to smartphone technology. The lawsuit was filed in US District Court in Delaware, like its previous lawsuit filed this past October . The suit echoes the exact same complaints that Nokia made to the ITC, namely that the Apple iPhone 3G and 3GS step on several of its patents, such as one that covers a “programmable voltage controlled oscillator,” another that details a way to combine speaker and antenna assemblies, and another that covers contextual linking of data from an “electronic message” that causes another app to open in order to handle that data (think clicking a phone number in an e-mail to make a call).
