DoJ Appeal Report Day 1

I don’t have much to report so I will keep it brief. Once I got there, the first surprise I heard from my former SC ISP, is that not FIOD-ECD was appointed to investigate uploading, but BREIN instead!

The most funny thing about this is that the public prosecutor claimed that FIOD-ECD does not have the expertise in such things while BREIN does. I could not believe my ears, but it’s true. The first thing all the 3 lawyers were pointing out is that an independent investigation should be made. My lawyer even gave them advise on who they could use and the judges took it and decided that it should be arranged.

During the whole day I was very tired and not clear in my head because the night before I haven’t slept for a minute so my sleeping pills didn’t work as expected. At some point I didn’t follow or understand what the judge was trying to say so it got a bit confusing. I tried to explain how things work and that SC has nothing to do with downloading or uploading files since it’s just a file identification service. Later on, I did a powerpoint presentation to make sure the judges understood what I was trying to say.

Above all, I explained 3 methods of disabling the upload since their biggest concern is uploading and hopefully they will find someone with the right knowledge to support those facts. They were following closely what was being presented and I kept asking them if they fully understood. Each time they replied with yes, so I guess  things went pretty well.

The second day is scheduled for January 27 2010.
