P2PON Recommends: ‘The Invention of Lying’
Sorry for the absence guys but now we’re back with our weekly movie review – some good films have appeared lately on p2p networks and ‘The Invention of Lying’ is definitely one of them. Co-written and directed by Ricky Gervais (his first film as a director) and newcomer Matthew Robinson, the film exposes a world where lying is totally unknown to mankind until Mark Bellison discovers it (“I said something that wasn't”) and while there are moments where the glimpses into this world are a bit disappointing and not as spectacular as we’d expect, ‘The Invention of Lying’ manages to create the right context for deep thoughts and reflection. Maybe the first 30 minutes of the film are its best but nonetheless it keeps a good pace and delivers good (sometimes bitter) comic scenes until the end.
