Privacy International joins Phorm Phight

The pit threatening to engulf US privacy pirate Phorm has just grown wider and deeper. The EC has started legal action against Britain for its support of the company, and NoDPI’s Alex Hanff says Privacy International has joined the fight against Phorm Deep Privacy Invasion, or Deep Packet Inspection as it’s also known. NoDPI sent a letter of complaint to the Financial Services Authority »»» (FSA) on Phorm’s statements regarding the support of supposed legal compliance from various UK Government departments and regulators, said Hanff recently, going on Phorm claim that the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the Home Office and the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (DBERR or BERR) have all cleared Phorm’s WebWise technology as being fully compliant under UK and EU Law.
