RIAA attacks Free Software Foundation

The RIAA has now openly attacked Recording Industry vs The People , Ray Beckerman, the New York lawyer who runs it, and Richard Stallman’s Free Software Foundation. The attack centres on the ongoing RIAA vs Joel Tenenbaum case with judge Nancy Gertner presiding over it. “The RIAA’s nonsensical, ad hominem attack on me, on my blog, and on the Free Software Foundation, none of which had anything to do with the important issues that the Judge has to consider, merely called attention to the weakness of its legal position,” Beckerman told p2pnet, going on The 9-page response , four pages longer than the document to which it was responding, termed the FSF an organization ‘dedicated to eliminating restrictions on copying, redistribution, and modifying computer programs,’ and accused the FSF of having an ‘open and virulent bias against copyrights’ and ‘blatant bias’ against the record companies.
