Sony joins UMG, Google, in Vevo

One of the most interesting things about Vivendi Universal, EMI, Warner Music and Sony Music efforts to convince music lovers there’s a viable online corporate music business is: their share of Net music is miniscule. And yet it’s apparently enough for them to be throwing away hundreds of millions of dollars launching, and then dropping, websites, on promotion, marketing, advertising, and so on. Imagine what it’d be like for them if they were to work with fans, P2P application innovators, up-and-coming musicians?
