Warner Music Group CEO Edgar Bronfman Jr. recently stated that the company would not sign any new licensing agreements for ad-supported music. “Free streaming services are clearly not net positive for the industry, and as far as Warner Music is concerned will not be licensed,” Bronfman announced in a phone interview.

Valerie Plame Wilson cannot publicize details of her work as a CIA operative, even though a government official already outed her as an agent in an attempt to discredit her husband, Joseph C. Wilson, a federal appeals court says. Valerie Plame Wilson and her husband, Joseph Wilson, in 2006 Plame Wilson, who served as chief of the unit responsible for weapons proliferation issues related to Iraq, argued that confidentiality agreements she signed to win her employment more than two decades ago should be nullified.

It’s day three in the landmark case of AFACT – representing several Hollywood studios – and Aussie ISP iiNet (earlier coverage of day one and day two ). Today a very interesting and somewhat unexpected angle to iiNet’s defense was revealed by the ISP’s barrister, Richard Cobden. Earlier AFACT had insisted that iiNet did nothing to discourage its subscribers from downloading copyright material and therefore condoned their behavior, but it seems that the studios aren’t exactly blameless when it comes to encouraging the use of BitTorrent.
