P2PON Recommends: ‘The Invention of Lying’

Sorry for the absence guys but now we’re back with our weekly movie review – some good films have appeared lately on p2p networks and ‘The Invention of Lying’ is definitely one of them. Co-written and directed by Ricky Gervais (his first film as a director) and newcomer Matthew Robinson, the film exposes a world where lying is totally unknown to mankind until Mark Bellison discovers it (“I said something that wasn't”) and while there are moments where the glimpses into this world are a bit disappointing and not as spectacular as we’d expect, ‘The Invention of Lying’ manages to create the right context for deep thoughts and reflection. Maybe the first 30 minutes of the film are its best but nonetheless it keeps a good pace and delivers good (sometimes bitter) comic scenes until the end.

Mininova Traffic Plummets After Going ‘Legal’

After nearly five years of loyal service, Mininova deleted over a million torrent files when it partly shut down its website a week ago. What remains are a few thousand torrents that were uploaded though its content distribution platform, which only lists uploads by approved users. Mininova was forced to take such a drastic measure following a negative verdict in their court battle with the local anti-piracy outfit BREIN this summer.

Snapture iPhone App Now Allows Sharing via Twitter And Facebook

Many iPhone users are probably familiar with Snapture, one of the most popular paid photo apps for the brand. His developers upgraded it a few days ago and its new features will make it even more desirable as they include the ability to share photos on social networks like Facebook or Twitter (which has become almost a must for a top photo app), a new tap-to-focus capability, and also various color modes (black & white, sepia, negative). With all these included, the offering seems to have been pretty attractive at $1.99, the current price of Snapture as it has reached 700,000 downloads already.
