Both men are renowned musicians and activists, Angus a member of punk band L’Étranger, and later, Grievous Angels.

A California internet service provider ceded to the demands of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and has removed from the internet a spoofed press release set up by the culture jamming collective the Yes Men, which falsely announced the Chamber now supports legislation to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. On Monday, a wide variety of mainstream news outlets picked up the hoax announcement, which was followed by a staged press conference at the National Press Club featuring a Yes Men member posing as a spokesman for the Chamber of Commerce.

Thus far 2009 has been a great year for the Pirate Party movement. With more than 7 percent of the vote, the Swedish Pirate Party secured a seat in the European Parliament, and the Pirates in Germany entered the local Parliament a few weeks later. These successes motivated supporters of the party’s ideals in other countries to become active as well.
