Modern Warfare 2 Most Pirated Game of 2009

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 broke records this year as the biggest ever entertainment launch in history. With 4.7 million units sold in the US and UK during the first 24 hours, it pulled in revenues totaling $310 million. In five days the game’s worldwide sales climbed to $550 million, crushing previous record holders Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (only $394m) and The Dark Knight (just $203.8m).

Medical Records: Stored in the Cloud, Sold on the Open Market

When patients visit a physician or hospital, they know that anyone involved in providing their health care can lawfully access their medical records. But unknown to patients, an increasing number of outside vendors that manage electronic health records also have access to that data, and are reselling the information as a commodity. The revelation comes in a recent New York Times article about how so-called “scrubbed” patient data isn’t as anonymous as people think .

Film follows female member of a neo-nazi gang whose day job is to “take care of four crazy old people that all are just waiting to die.” Too often BitTorrent and P2P in general gets demonized for being replete with copyrighted material that is shared without the permission of its creators. Under reported is the large volume of material that’s offered by artists looking to simply put their work in the public sphere for others to enjoy. Hanna Sköld is just such a person.

Nan Goldin’s Klara and Edda belly-dancing, a photo of two girls (right), was among 149 others in the ‘Thanksgiving’ collection owned by Elton John. Is it nasty? When it went on show at the Baltic Centre For Contemporary Art in Newcastle, England, in 2007, it raised a storm of protest and accusations that Klara and Edda was an example of kiddie porn.
