Wikileaks leaks classified intelligence report about itself

Wikileaks, a website that aims to boost government transparency and accountability by publishing sensitive documents, has released a classified military counterintelligence analysis report that discusses the “threat posed to the US Army” by Wikileaks itself. The report outlines this perceived threat and contends that military security could be put at risk if classified information is made available through Wikileaks, where it can be accessed by foreign intelligence agents and terrorists. The report also points out that foreign governments could leak falsified information to the Wikileaks site in an attempt to undermine the credibility of the United States.

p2pnet news view P2P | Politics:- The latest round of ACTA negotiations, which concluded yesterday in in Seoul, Korea, might have been summed up as secret talks on transparency, Michael Geist suggested. “Having spent the first day focused on the now-leaked Internet provisions and the second day on the leaked criminal provisions, negotiators will spend this morning discussing whether they should make the draft treaty public,” he blogged . Now, “As the ACTA story begins to capture mainstream media attention (front page of the Ottawa Citizen , coverage from the Washington Post , NZ Herald , the Atlantic , Wired ), the press release from the now-concluded Seoul talks should be released shortly,” he says today, going on: ” If the past releases are any indication, it will thank the Korean government and blandly describe the talks on Internet and criminal provisions.

Paying too much for .com domains? One group blames VeriSign

If you’ve paid for a .com domain name in the last three years, the Coalition for ICANN Transparency (CFIT) says that you’ve paid too much—and it’s trying convince federal courts that the law has been broken. VeriSign has an exclusive contract with the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) to manage the .com and .net DNS registries. According to a group of disgruntled registrars, the whole situation is an antitrust nightmare, one allegedly perpetuated by lobbyists, astroturfers, planted news stories, and “stacked” public meetings.
