It’s looking awfully familiar, the waiting game is in full effect again. The civil appeal verdict should have been more then 2 weeks ago, but without a word from the court, it looks like it’s postponed for an unspecified time. Unsurprisingly, the DoJ appeal resume has also been delayed from 27th January to 14th of April 2010.

Takes only 90 minutes for a UK jury in a unanimous decision to negate more than 4 years worth of work by the music industry and the prosecution, clearing Alan Ellis, former admin of the famed BitTorrent tracker site, of conspiracy to defraud. Alan Ellis, admin of the famed BitTorrent tracker site OiNK, and the first person to be prosecuted for illegal file-sharing in the UK, has been acquitted of conspiracy to defraud in a trial closely watched by file-sharers and the music industry alike. “Alan Ellis was unanimously declared not guilty,” reads a brief message on the site.

In an attempt to ensure that Dutch citizens can’t access The Pirate Bay, anti-piracy outfit BREIN took three of the tracker’s founders to court this summer. BREIN won the case and Fredrik, Gottfrid and Peter were ordered to block Dutch users, a decision they decided to appeal. In the verdict of the initial appeal, the Court ruled that The Pirate Bay has to remove a list of torrents linking to copyrighted works.

Mininova’s decision to delete all infringing torrents from its index marks the end of an era that started five years ago. In December 2004, the demise of the mighty Suprnova left a meteor crater in the fledgling BitTorrent landscape.
