UK To Ban Web Porn?

UK’s Parliament has put into motion a formal study – led by Claire Perry, the MP who proposed a UK-wide porn filter – regarding child safety online. A movie-style rating system that applies to the Internet was suggested by Perry last year with adult content being filtered directly by ISPs. Adults wishing to gain access to this kind of content would have to check-in with their providers; TalkTalk, for example, offers such services. This concept appealed to UK’s Parliament and is now investigated. The inquiry will try “to establish the arguments for and against network-level filtering of content that would require an 18 rating in other forms of media”.
